The Art and Design curriculum at CCC aims to:
Develop creative thinking and problem-solving through a wide range of materials, techniques, and processes.
Build knowledge of art history and contemporary practice, understanding how art reflects and shapes culture and identity.
Enhance visual literacy and critical analysis, enabling students to interpret and evaluate artworks thoughtfully.
Improve technical proficiency in drawing, painting and sculpture fostering resilience and independence.
Expand cultural capital by engaging with diverse artists, movements, and traditions, inspiring ambition for future study or careers.
Strengthen reading and subject-specific vocabulary to communicate ideas and critique work confidently.
By the end of Year 11, students will leave with the ability to think creatively, work independently, and appreciate the role of art and design in a global context, equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed in further education, employment, and life.
