Finance, Payments & Communication

If you need any information or have any queries on any financial matters regarding your child’s education, the finance team at CCC can be contacted by:

Communication

As a school we need to send you lots of information about your child, their class and the school in general, throughout the year. We use a management information system (MIS) called Arbor for our communication with you as parents and carers. Arbor can be accessed via a web browser or via a mobile app that can be downloaded via your App store. As a Parent of a child at CCC you should be able to register and login to Arbor  directly from the web browser page, or the App, using the email address that you have registered with us. If you are unable to logon please contact us and we will get back to you.

Arbor is a quick and easy way to connect with you and keep you updated with school news and information relating to your child such as:

  • School Closures & Emergency notification of flood etc.

  • Advise/acknowledge that your child is absent from school

  • Test and exam date reminders

  • Invitation to or changes to meetings and school events

  • Unauthorised absence reminder notices

  • Expected time of arrival when returning from a school trip

  • General information about what is going on at school

You will be able to see your childs timetable, any homework that has been set, behaviour points awarded and, where relevant, reports and exam information.

Getting Started - Login to the Parent Portal and Parent App

Parent Guide - A quick introduction to Arbor for Parents and Guardians

Payments

CCC also uses Arbor for online payments enabling you to pay for trips, events, resources and revision guides etc and Arbor will be used for topping up your childs cashless catering account. Having all this information available within one system will hopefully save you time too.

If you do not have a login for the Arbor Parent App please contact the school admin team who will be able to help you.

Free School Meals

Benefits-related Free School Meals

From year 3 onwards, children whose parents are getting any of the following are entitled to free school meals:

  • Universal Credit (provided you have an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods).

  • Income Support (IS).

  • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance (IBJSA).

  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (IRESA).

  • The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit.

  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.

  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income that does not exceed £16,190).

  • Working Tax Credit run-on  (the payment you get for a further 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit).

How to apply for Free School Meals

Devon County Council have implemented an opt-out auto-award process in which they can automatically identify pupils who are eligible for Free School Meals but are not already claiming. These checks are taking place monthly so you may not need to apply.

However, you can apply as normal through the Devon Citizens Portal. This is the quickest and easiest way to apply and will result in you getting an instant decision. Alternatively, call the Education Helpline on 0345 155 1019.
