The aim of the Business Studies curriculum is to empower all students, with the knowledge, transferable skills and financial literacy needed to understand how businesses operate, make informed decisions and access wider opportunities, ultimately supporting greater social mobility and future success.

At Key Stage 4, students at Cullompton Community College who opt for GCSE Business:

  • Develop a strong understanding of how organisations operate in an ever‑changing world.

  • Learn to think creatively, evaluate risk and interpret market dynamics through exploring topics such as marketing, human resources, finance and business operations,

  • Expand their commercial awareness and financial literacy while also building essential transferable skills including problem‑solving, critical thinking, teamwork and numeracy.

  • Gain valuable insight into how businesses influence society and the economy, preparing them for further study and future careers by examining real‑world business scenarios and the wider economic environment, students
