Geography
Our Geography curriculum inspires students, regardless of their social or economic background, to have a sense of awe, wonder and respect about the world they live in.
We aim to:
Ignite curiosity and appreciate the diversity of people, cultures, environments and landscapes around the world and their intricate interactions,
Arm students with the knowledge, understanding, vocabulary and skills they need to make links and connections across a broad spectrum of subjects and contexts now and throughout their lives,
Inspire students to broaden horizons through adventures and travel on any scale; developing the cultural capital they deserve to enable them to thrive in society,
Support students to become empathetic global citizens, who understand their role and responsibility in inspiring action and demanding answers to ensure sustainability of humanity and the planet,
Develop a wide range of transferable, interpersonal skills such as problem solving, report writing, ICT, presentation and mapping to support future study and career aspirations.
Through the acquisition of disciplinary skills and knowledge, our Geography curriculum arouses debate about past mistakes, identifying possible threats and the potential for sustainable future triumphs through contemporary issues, case studies, fieldwork and trips. We want to instil hope and empower students to bring about positive change in the 21st century. It is why Geography is such a special subject that lies at the heart of our curriculum offer.
